GameChange Solar 394 mW India Effective largest solar tracker project completed

GameChange Solar announced the completion of its first Genius Tracker project in India. The 394 MW project is 110 kilometers from Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat. This solar power plant is expected to provide clean solar power to 376,000 households.

GameChange Solar is honored to be selected by India’s leading independent power producer, Tata Power, a subsidiary of Tata Group. This is India’s largest solar project using a single-axis tracker. Due to the challenging ground conditions and strong winds in the area, GameChange Solar’s Genius Tracker 1P was selected for the project. Genius Tracker™ is specifically designed to deal with these environments.

In May 2021, the then only partially completed project withstood the baptism of Hurricane Tauktae. This is the strongest cyclone that has hit Gujarat since 1998. Its wind speed exceeded 160 km/h. Trees and telephone poles were uprooted wherever it passed. Due to the high-quality engineering and construction of Genius Tracker™, the installed part of the facility was undamaged at that time.

GameChange Solar also demonstrated its commitment to India, because more than 20% of Genius Tracker materials come from India. GameChange Solar’s goal is to achieve local procurement of more than 50% of the system components in all projects in India in the future.

Vikas Bansal, International Chief Operating Officer of Game Change Solar, said: “We are delighted that Genius Tracker has been selected for the Ahmedabad project. We look forward to introducing GameChange Solar’s cutting-edge Genius Tracker™ technology to more projects in India. As solar As a global leader in the industry, we will work hard to have an impact on the supply of clean energy across the Indian subcontinent.”
