Israeli authority on Sunday denies Iran charge it seeks to trick U.S. into war

It was Israel that should have been on alarm for conceivable Iranian strikes on the one-year commemoration on Sunday of the death of Tehran’s top general, Qassem Soleimani, in a U.S. drone strike in Iraq, Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said on Kan public radio.

Washington accuses Iran-upheld local army for normal rocket assaults on U.S. offices in Iraq, including close to the U.S. international safe haven. No known Iran-supported gatherings have asserted obligation.

On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter: “New knowledge from Iraq demonstrate that Israeli agitators are plotting assaults against Americans — putting an active (President Donald) Trump in a predicament with a phony casus belli.”

Steinitz said the comments demonstrated that Iran, in the wake of mounting U.S. sanctions charged as controling its atomic program and association in territorial clash zones, was “feeling the squeeze – financial weight, and weight as far as public security”.
